So since there obviously some anime fans on this site and it is infact a gay site I feel the need to inform everyone of...YAOI <3 lol. Are there any yaoi / yuri fans out there? Am I the only one ( Just incase u dont know yaoi is a anime/ manga with two men and a yuri is the same idea but with two women )

I don't think there are too many people in western society who are aware of Yaoi/Yuri. It's mostly popular in Asian countries, but as you well know, the social stigma of homosexuality in Western Culture leaves 'alternative' entertainment as 'alternative.'

I don't read anime/manga, but I've read fanfictions that were labeled yaoi or yuri, if that counts. I like yuri better.

i can imagine its popularity in Japan and maybe S. Korea, but is it popular elsewhere in Asia? I just can't imagine Communist China and Muslim-influenced SouthEastAsia allowing stuff like this.

I'm a huge fan of yuri. If you want to read yuri or yaoi stuff you should try going to fanfiction.net. There's a pretty big amount of fiction that's there for yuri/yaoi lovers out there if you know what you're looking for or like certain couples.

I love reading both. But, I like yaoi better. It's hard to find people that don't automatically assume hentai when you mention Yaoi... And yea, I suppose that is what most americans would find if they searched for it.. but there is so much more to it than that. It's about the love, not the sex.

I agree with you. Yaoi isnt about the sex. Its about the love between two people of the same gender. I myself am a major fan of yaoi but only becaue of the artwork and the Combination between two people in love. There are many times i have seen yaoi all about sex but i dont take it that way. I dont think anyone should take it just for the sex. Its like a beautiful rose blooming for the first time really. Thats how i see it anyways.
