GAH WTF! Chopin is most certainly not Baroque - he is renowned for being one of the most prolific pianists and composers of the ROMANTIC period.

ANYWAY, where was I....
I love MOZART, namley his flute (and flute and harp) concertos, his overtures esp The Marriage of Figaro and The Magic Flute (oh yes and the aria "Der Holle Rachte kochte in meinem Hertzen" check that one out, its the most technically demanding vocalist piece of the classical period)

I also like most of the 20th Century French Flute repitiore esp. Faures's Fantisie and... those other ones... *cough

I pretty much like all types of 'art' music styles, from baroque to 20th century. Lately ive been finding a lot of interest in Impressionism (yay Debussy), Expressionism and Serealism... Again, *cough

I ve fun out of things to say. Let all who read this bask in the awkward glory I have suplied...

Pointless side note: I am a woodwind doubler, specialising mainly in Flute/s. Anybody intrested in talking music, or anything in general talk to me... (im not desperate ... ... please)

*cough

That is all

I don't remember the title. but at one of the free uni. performances one of my student teachers from high school played in a afro-cuban classical fusion trio of bassoon, clarinet, and piano that redefined traditional string ensemble.

It was probably the best recital I have ever experienced. the bassoon was haunting on one of the classical pieces. It was one of those heart shaking things.

unfortunately i dont remember the title of the classical pieces, but some of the amazing pieces were.

Paquito D'Rivera - Afro
Astor Piazzolla -Oblivion (tango)

I'm astonished no one's mentioned Verdi yet; absolute legend! Check out Nabucco, La Traviata, La Donna e Mobile and Aida... OK they are operas but they count too).
And let's not forget Elgar (Nimrod+ Pomp and Circumstance etc).

Baroque? You've got to be kidding me?

Chopin's a romantic composer, he lived in the 19th century and was the most influential romantic pianist of the era?! Baroque was before classical, in the 1600s and early 1700s. So I'm sorry to disappoint you, but he's romantic.

Re:CLASSICAL MUSIC fANS 11 Months, 3 Weeks ago
i cant really say which composers i really like best lol, but i think motzart, beethoven, and j.s bach are the ones who cant go wrong with me lol

i also cant stop listening to some of the vocal and choral pieces by vivaldi at the moment lol. but i feel that i love motzart and beethoven because they are so different - with motzart you feel as if the music has just came out of his head perfectly formed in one great stream, whereas with most of beethoven its as if you are actually hearing him compose the music, as if the piece is a struggle
