i think the majority of the population is bi. but is like a large spectrum but with a bell curve, straight to kinda straight to bi to kinda gay to gay. What i think though, is that those semi straight people don't accept the fact that hey are bi, so the majority of people coming out are from the kinda gay (or bi's leaning towards same sex) the absolute gays.
I say the majority of the population is bi because waay back before the bible, many societies were like that. romans, chines, japanes, greeks, indians, arabs. when the society is open to sexual orientations, people aren't freaked out about being discriminated, so they act naturally.
i think i read something like that in philosophy class

I think there is such people as bisexuals...If people are attracted to men and some people are attracted to women then why not both! I believe that they may like one sex more than the other but they still get attracted to both!! I came out as being bisexual beore i came out as gay because i was terrified what people would think of me beign gay but luckily my parents and friends were AMAZE about it!! XX

I think that there is no such thing as bisexuality. I don't dislike the people who say that they are bisexual (my step brother says that he is bisexual) I just think that people who say they are bisexual are hiding from the real truth that they are gay. It is so much easier to say that you are bisexual, rather then saying you are gay, but I think that it is a way to cover up your true identity. I get really pissed when people say that they are bisexual, if you are a guy and sleep with guys, then you are gay. If you are a guy that sleeps with guys and girls than you are just confused!

Post edited by: C_shan, at: 2007/11/29 05:41

Wow....some of the most narrow mindedness I've ever come across here.
As eversweet stated on the previous page, having to be either gay or straight is, "conformity bullshit". Why should I not have a choice as to whom I love and get along the best with....regardless of sexuality.
Yes, the argument that calling oneself bi is an easier option.....but they are NOT bi. They are GAY people using bi as a cover. Now that I've stated the obvious, I will be even more blunt and point out the fact that bisexuality do have an emotional and sexual attraction to both genders.
What erks me the most about this discussion is that the whole topic of sexuality has caused much hatred as it is. Many straight individuals, many misguided by religion, don't believe in homosexuality as it is and merely say that they are confused......so then why do some homosexual people say that bisexuality cannot exist when in essence they would be contradicting their very existence with regards to sexual preference in the eyes of heterosexuals.

errrmm.... the accepted international psychological norm on this topic is that most of the world is bi, with the minority being exclusively hetro or gay. This was put foreward by professionals who study sexuality, not some half minded bigot btw.
and people are bi because they don't want to admit their homosexuality? I laughed sooo much so you saying that someone who openly says they find men attractive are saying they don't find men attractive? and in societies eyes, being bi and gay are just as big 'sins'. really, the logic behind c_shans argument is so flawed being bi/gay/straight is FAR more than just sleeping with people O_o it's also about love and affection
also I'm dating a bi guy, and I really doubt I could be happier ^_^

Wow.... okay where do I start?
The first thing that I want to point out is that it seems very odd that people feel this huge need to classify everyone else using such a strict dichotomy; if you aren't straight then you must be gay, if you aren't gay you must be straight.... does that sort of logic seems in the least bit flawed to anyone else?
As it has been said in either this thread or another like it, there are degrees of sexuality, and very few are strictly attracted to only one gender. But I also see the classification as creating problems of close-mindedness and discrimination.
Some people are confused about their sexuality and as such claim to be something they are not, but this can happen if they say they are straight/bisexual/lesbian/gay/transgendered/queer/intersex/androgenous/asexual/etc. But the fact that this confusion is possible does not mean that it is always the case. By the logic above I could claim that the entire world is gay, but tehy are just confused about it.

So you're not cut right down the middle.
So you're not 50/50, so the fuck what? Both men and women get the old 'how's your father' going, I really don't need much more proof then that.
Given the fact that sexuality is not made of besa blocks, it's fluid and grey, which most dislike; it would be better to ask, is anyone gay or straight?
Everyone is somewhat bi, to some extent, even if they're not attracted to all the features of either gender.

I think it would be easier to tell somebody that you're bisexual compared to telling them that you're gay because to other, prehaps close-minded people, you're still slightly "normal". However, sexuality isn't something you can measure or rate, it's always different, so it might also be easier to be labelled as bi because that particular person might still be confused. If you like men and women, no matter what preference, I think it's safe to say that you're bi. If someone can go out with a woman and feel comfortable with her and feel the same way about a guy, I think that's biness.

i think that bisexuality is the purest and most open love. true bisexuals are open, unexclusively to any gender. they really are in love with the person, not the person's superficial outside. but most people have prefrence to what the person looks like and that's where you get gay, lesbian and straight people.

Post edited by: Catherine, at: 2007/12/09 17:18

"Bisexuality" seems to be a common debate. If there are.. Bisexual people, then it must exist.
I think "Bisexuality" is just another.. form of sexuality, really. The same as Homosexuality, Heterosexuality, etc..
It's just what people are.
