We all know the stereotypes society has made for GLBT people, but I'm kinda interested on what one is thought of as the worst.

Personally, my least favorite is when people confuse peadofilia and homosexuality.

I hate being steretyped so much.

But I particularly hate it when I meet a girl at a party or concert or whatever and I will tell them I'm gay and they're like 'OMG LETS BE BEST FRIENDS AND GO SHOPPING!!"

That's how I deicde who I become friends with.

I would have to say I agree with Dave too, I work with children through St John Ambulance, I teach a Cadet Division, and I have had people saying I shouldn't because I am gay... Well bollocks to them all ^_^
I do hate when people think that just because you are gay means that you HAVE to act overly camp and queenie. I mean, I am pretty camp, but I know people who are more camp than me who are straight. Jesus...

Thing is though, like or disliked, a lot of stereotypes are very true... Or based on very evident truth rather.

Those stereotypes are some of the things that really disappoint me with the gay community...
- We're perverted skanks
- We're sad pedos
- We're girly fairies
- We're drug whores

Thing is, I know of a lot of that, and it really DOES happen, and there are sooo many cases of it... meh. I try not to worry. Disappointed anyway.

Although, statistically, most of the pedophiles out there are straight males.

I think that stereotype might've come out of fear, or out of history back in Ancient Greece when the older males would have boy sex slaves, or whatever they did.

Although this may not be a "true" sterotype...

When someone is talking away and they say "fag" or "that's gay" or something as in insult towards someone, I find it kinda irritating how they'll be like "oh, no offence Scott.." or something of the sort. Like, a couple times is enough but eventually one get's used to those words being in their vocbulary so.. there's really no need to appologize anymore. Hearing "no offence" is more insulting than hearing the words themselves! Hah

Couldn't agree more, i really detest stereotyping. I'm a childcare student, only male on the course, that's bad enough, but at the nursery that i used to work at part-time, i used to get some really funny looks from the parents, who thought i was some kind of pedophile. I'm not particularly camp, actually, i suppose i am, yes, let me rephrase that, i am camp, but people seem to love me for it. One stereoptype that really pisses me right off, is that all guys like football, whenever i meet someone for the first time, who isn't used to hanging around with teenage guys, that's the first thing that comes up, it's like, piss off already.

SPORTS!?!?!?! BLAH! I hate them all. Not sure if this is a stereotype, but close enough. I hate it when someone finds out that you're gay and they completely freak because they think that every gay guy is attracted to them....yeah right!
