my little sis just showed me this movie called Spirited Away, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, (if that is how you spell it?)

Howl's Moving Castle... very good film

naussica of the vally of the wind is good aswell XD

well i've got all the studio ghibli movies so really they are all good. A good one is The tales from Earthsea but, a good war one is Grave of the fireflies. I hope i help a bit

I adore Howl's Moving Castle: one of my favourate films of all time. Spirited Away ranks below that, My Neighbour Totoro and Grave of the Fireflies, but is none the less an excellent film in its own right. I watched Grave of the Fireflies after I broke up with my ex: brillient film when all you want to do is cry.

Miyazaki fAnAtIc right here!! Besides SPIRITED AWAY is CASTLE IN THE SKY and PRINCESS MONONOKE... and MY NEIGHBOR TOTORO and KIKI'S DELIVERY SERVICE, HOWL'S MOVING CASTLE and NAUSSICAA IN THE VALLEY OF THE WIND. GRAVE OF THE FIREFLIES is only from the studio through which Miyazaki does his films (which does excellent films) but it was not directed by him, I think it was done by ISAO TAKAHATA.

This was actually the first film the studio made, it was really a test for Laputa: Castle in the Sky, which is why the studio was formed. Both are excellent.

Grave of the Fireflies is good, as mentioned a few times over in this thread, but beware, it's a very sad movie and has been compared to Schindler's List, but in anime form. It's about war.

Seeing as many films have already been mentioned I'd recommend Porco Rosso, as it looks funny and is actually very well made, as with all Studio Ghibli movies.

Well I think they've all been mentioned, but Laputa is one of my favourites. Like one of the previous posters has said watch Princess Mononoke and Howl's moving castle. Porco Rosso is good, as is Kiki's Delivery Service and Nausicaa. Honestly if it's studio Ghibli you can't really go wrong. Oh yeah just remembered Whisper of the Heart and Return of the Cat.

Oh man i love mayazaki amd studio ghibli films. Princess Mononoke is probably my favourite.
Question: Dubbed or subbed, which do you prefer?
