Today i was busing home with a bunch of my mates, they are all straight btw, *i hardly have any gay mates soo sad * but anyhoo soo then there was dis guy , he walk on the bus and he was like wearing gril clothing with make up and everything, and they were like " yo look at that fag!" then everyone started to laught and everything. My freind start to make a bunch of mean jokes about him and kept calling him a fag, okies i admit it i did laugh when he started, but as time go by i started to get really annoy and very mad cuz he kept calling the guy a fag out loud...so i got piss off and told him that" i'm a fag too you know" and he was like " yeah i know, but we are just joking and everything, we are friend arent we?" It's like they're think it is okay to make fun of other gay people just because they are freind with a bi guy.. i told them it's not okay but they kept telling me to calm down or chill which make me even more mad....> do you guy think that it is okay for them to make fun of other gay/bi guy just because they are freind with me. and i have no ideal what to do with them, honestly i wanna make new freinds....sighs it soo sad to know how our society work.....

I used to get sensetive over that word whenever anyone said it, usually it was my friends that effected me more than anyone else if they used those words. I guess thats how you can tell you're gay right? When you feel protective over that word. At least i do. But tell yourself your not in shame if you dont repeat what you hear, and that although it bothers you, you need to let it pass. Though i'm not saying let it desensitize your thinking of these not so nice words, but you have to stay strong. It's the shit world we live in right now.

I agree, I've never taken offense to it unless someone is genuinely serious when using it. I have a pretty good sense of humor and know that most people don't use the words to be hateful. In the situation described in the first post though, I'd be really pissed too.

Im okay with most gay remarks, but i hate "fag". If someone calls someone else a fag and you can tell they mean it, it pisses me off. hate the word

Usually "gay" insults like this don't really affect me, but it depends. Sometimes I am perfectly fine with joking about it, and others people can tell I get extremely annoyed and pissy with. It all depends on the situation.
