Maaate, you more or less just described my life story! Im waiting for university, thats where its all gonna kick off
And no, I really dont wish I was straight, it would mean I wouldnt have most of the friends that I have now, even though life would be a lot easier in many other ways.

Post edited by: eaglepies, at: 2007/11/28 09:01

Your post got me thinking... I remembered I was always friends with girls from an early age, all the other boys used to rush off to play football at break time, I'd sit down with my girl friends and eat my lunch over pleasant conversation.

Sad, I know, but true.
Difficult... I wouldn't care if my parents were disappointed or not, I've only been honest with them by coming out, and if they had rejected me (which they didn't ) they would be the ones at fault, not me.

pretty much wish I was straight, my life would be(and been) so less dramatic. or so I think anyway. it's pretty much just where I live that's the problem, but geez theres ALOT of emotional pain that wouldn't have been there if I was straight.
overall I have a pretty good life though, just don't see it sometimes.
lot of ya seem really proud, thats really good!

The problem is not mine. I'm fine and not hurting anyone. The problem is society. It is them that needs to shut up and accept me!
I can't imagine being straight though. Personally I think it would suck to be straight. Seems so boring and I can't identify with any of it. Also I can't understand the hate either. Being gay is obviously genetic and uncontrollable. From my own experience I never ever felt sexual feelings for females. So I don't see how it is a choice.
I agree. It is them who have the problem - it is who you are, it is not your fault, and it is not a fault. One should not let society make you feel like you cannot be yourself, and you shouldn't let people make you wish you were "mainstream". Fair enough, there are more straight people out there, but so what. I do not wish to be straight, in fact, the only thing I wish is that sexuality is not seen as anything that makes you a different person - because we are all people - like how being a woman or a man does not make you different to any other person because we are all human.
Granted, some people have a problem with it, and may try to make some people's life a bit awkward - but why let them do that? In my humble opinion, if someone can not accept you for who you are and still love you as a person, then they are not worth your time, or worth letting it bother you. All that matters is that you have someone to love and that you love them, whomever they are and whatever gender or sexuality they are.

I kind of go in and out... My friends don't understand it too well, and I know it would be much easier if I could eye the ladies like they do, but I just really can't. I've given up on trying to enlighten them, they just don't get it at all, tell me it's kinda gross sometimes ... I dunno.
There are times when I am happy to be gay, but then other times when I just ... I don't know. Life might be quite a bit easier for me, given my hardcore religious circumstances.

Anything that decreases the risk of accidentally having children is fine by me.

I used to every day wish I was straight. I would look at **** (the guy I have a crush on) and "why him... why boys...". I tried for a while to ignore it, but I can't lie to myself. Now, I think it maybe once a month, but now I think of him and wish he would come out to me. Most of the time I am happy that I am gay, but I wish I had already come out.
