Interesting. Although, as stated, it probably would have made a bigger, more positive impact if his sexuality has been made more apparent within the books.
But anything to put a positive light on being gay must be a good thing, right?

I don't agree with that. I think if sexuality was more of a big thing, they wouldn't have been as well received by the public of today. People view sexuality as an adult issue, so many of the children that love these books wouldn't have read them (as their parents don't buy them).
Saying it afterwards now has more of an impact, because they would have never made it as children's books otherwise. |

i have to admit im suprised, but thinking about it it makes sense. the fact that there weere never any gay characters up til now had always kind of annoyed me a little, although i did wonder about colin creevey

Just look through it, there is plenty of smut if you read it from a different point of view lol. |

Heh... sounds like what I do to my straight friend when I'm reading his fanfics! 
Now what really surprised me about Dumbledore was the fact he was smitten with a dark wizard himself! I guess not even he could resist the allure of a bad boy!

It's not that much of a surprise if you really think about it. He's an accentric old man who wears high heeled boots & purple robes. On their fisrt christmas, he sat and wore a bonet for the duration of dinner.
