So how many of us are out at school and how are we treated?


me!-im out to my peers, family the whole shibaam!but am lucky enough to be in an artschool-i study Drama at The National School of the Arts and EVERYONE is so accepting and loving. When i first got there i was totally in the closet! ive always been gay but in the closet because i was scared of ridicule even though ridicule was inevitable. I saw 3 out guys at NSA and i came out in that first week!
it was fantastic!
And i havent changed since,and because of that ive achieved alot! First ever Gay Head-Boy(at School)-So i holding it down for the fella's!
And we have a click "the Queens" all of the homosexuals at school in our click, ok not all! only the out and fabulous ones!
so, how many of us are out to our school?

Well i've just left school
But Whilst i was at school I was only out to my select group of friends, other people made their assumptions and other people didnt have a clue.

But if anything its brought my friends group closer cus we jus sit and talk about guys! LOL

There's no out gays in my school... But I got my hunch about who's gay though, lol... I think homosecuality is generally looked down on in my school, I couldn't be bothered to care what everyone there thinks

I wasn't out while I was at school.. with good reason. One guy that was out committed suicide and the rumour running around was that he did it because of the homophobic things that he used to get abused with. I was only just discovering that I was gay then, but it definitely didn't give me any confidence to come out to the world... In fact, it was another 2 years or so before I did.

I'm still not out, but there were probably (back in HS) 4 outed gay/bi guys and 5 outed bi/gay girls...

the college i am going to...i think there's only 2 gay guys and 1 bi guy i know of and that's IT!

I'm in highschool and i'm not out to everyone just 2 friends at school and one at a different school. No one has directly come out at my school if there r any gays/bi's but there is this one guy who acts stereotypically gay. He has no problem telling me "your looking particularly hot today" but hes just being stupid with that so i dont know if he really is. I probably wont come in in HS but sometimes i have to try hard to resist talking to my friends that are girls about which of the brothers from The Supernatural is hotter lol.

My school is probably diffrent than most of your guys. I'm about to be a senior at an all guys catholic highschool, and I plan on being out to the school (while trying to avoid being out to my parents) by the start of this year. I was afraid at first because of the massive amount of homophobia that many guys might have, and since it's at an all guy school the threat level is raised. Besides me, there are probably only 2-4 other guys out within the 4 grades...or at least guys that are out to more than just close friends or retreat groups.

My reservations about coming out at school lie with my family finding out through rumours told to my two elder sisters before I get a chance to tell them. They've both left now, my sisters, but alot of their friends still attend the school and I really don't want to risk them findng out from them.

Even so, the majority of the people in my year do know. By accident. It all happened when I went out with this guy called Sam, everyone knew about it because he knew everyone and was completely out to everyone, which was annoying because he didn't really respect that I wasn't out. Any way, alot of people I don't really talk to know and they're fine with it, but the whole entourage of 'chavs', I'm sure, wouldn't be too supportive of the notion, should they find out.

I came out my sophmore year and wow. i was so scared that people wouldnt talk to me and i would lose my friends. But actually alot of pople really didnt care. Except for some, but now that im actually open about it. it feels great. and after i came out more and more guys and girls did. i was shocked.
