i was raised christain but i didnt like the christian way of life so i chose the only religion that didnt have 1000 connections to christanity

I suppose I'm an eclectic. Generally Christian, with family who are the type of Chrsitians who hate gay people. I grew up surrounded by other faiths and beliefs and this has seeped in.

I believe in God. I don't believe in the Bible completely. The general idea: love everyone, try to be good to people and work hard - that I believe in. I believe Jesus was around (historical fact people) and he was pretty wise, and I believe in karma. What goes around comes around. But I hate the idea of doing good things just for the sake of getting good karma or getting into heaven. I don't believe in the Pope.

I was going through a religious crisis a whileback. Around the time I came out. But it's amazing how reading articles on the internet can help. Articles that put holes in interpretations of gay bashing texts in the Bible like Leviticus.

What I really believe though is that religion is unnecessary. Every religion follows one major concept. Be good to and love people. The problem is that they try to give rules as to how to be good and make rewards such as getting into heaven. I believe people should be kind to and love people just for that sake - to be kind and love them. That's the problem with conservatist Christian. In all the gay bashing, they forget they're going against their main belief - to love they neighbour.

I'm tired of all the people coming into school to ram bibles down your throats.. (no slight pun intended) If someone isn't religious, leave them be! Don't badger them with all this "Jesus taught us this" "Jesus taught us it was a sin to sleep with the same sex" blah blah blah.

yah im aethist too i just think that all religions are too much of a coincidence that they all have generally the same story to them and occured around the same time and yet they all claim they are the only right one,

i personally believe that SOMETHING may have happened back then but it got a little outta hand and everyone had some fad with it and then it became a cult and so on... lol, i actually have discussions with people at school listing all the reasons why religions cant be be based on reality

come to think of it, like everyone but 2 or 3 ppl in my school who are white are aethist

i just feel that there are too many mistakes, contradictions and unexplained matches with events in other faiths, Buddhism is the only faith i beleive is actually a good idea since there is no real god or anything there, its more like a state of living rather than a faith, i dont even follow that though, i felt uncomfortable the one time i tried meditating

But i don't put the pressure on anyone to believe in it, and i respect the fact that eveyone has their own beiefs! So i never tell someone their beliefs are wrong or anything! Bu i h8 it when ppl say to me that im satani or anything, coz its somwthing thats helped me thru so much in my life. I could alays turn to my religion to salvage me.

I'm part of the infamous Irish Catholic Church. I barely attend mass at all anymore, maybe only christmas and easter. I think the church has done too much damage to be repaired, i think its views are old and obviously written by a heterosexual celebate because the rules regarding sex and sexuality are just ridiculous. I believe in god and the afterlife but i think the writers of the bible/koran/torah felt that sex and homosexuality had to be a sin simply because they were pleasurable. God judges people on the content of the character. How does intercourse with a member of the same sex make you a bad person?!

im a Roman Catholic personally i love my faith. i was raised in a southern baptist familly and chose to be Catholic. Im an avid Mass goer and i hold my beleifs dear to my heart

i think the main problem in this country is that people are automatically brought up into christianity, i think we should be educated about the different religions with an unbiased view and left to make our own choice. i ws brought up catholic and hated it, i knew it was the wrong path, some people just hate religion altogether because of their experiences with christianity and drop it, but others like me go in search for another path. i'm now a happy spiritualist.
