i dont believe in religion myself but my views on the subject is yes gays and religion such as christianity can go together. But religion is not my thing. My point is, for those who believe in god and are gay, there is nothing wrong with that. Thats the point exactly. You have to understand that the bible itself was not written by god, it was written by people who thought they had gods best interest of laws and rules. But along with these good morals, people probably put their own opinions and beliefs as do many people today do when they do anything. Looking in a perspective of someone who believes in god, i wouldn't believe the bible was written solely on a higher power that has never been in the realm of earth, but always in the realm of heaven. It just doesn't make sense, so that leaves that people who did believe in god, wrote the bible, and in along went their believes on certain things that they deemed wrong.

To sum it all up, i don't think god hates fags. If god is perfect, and makes no mistakes, loves all his children then why would he make a mistake and make gay people and hate them. He wouldn't.

I hope that this gives some of you who do believe in god and are gay hope, hope that your believes aren't condeming you because of who you are because they aren't.

Quite simply, Yes, Gays and God can, in my opinion, most definitely go together. However, I dont think that gays and some organised religion can go together. I don't think it's right, but at the moment that is just the way it is. Sooner or later I think, like the person above, the debate will go the same way as women did. Don't forget, though, that battle is still going on in some churches as well...
I count myself really lucky to go to a C of E church that is incredibly gay friendly, where I can be and am myself to everyone there, and am able to get involved, running a youth group and stuff like that.
However, a lot of churches arent like that, and some actively discourage gays from going (at least openly). One of the good and bad things about the C fo E, which I know most about, is that it's so diverse that you get both extremes within it, which means some of us dont get to see the other aspects of it, making us think it's all like this.
Anyway, that's my long way of saying that I deeply believe even if some religious groups say they don't, Gays and God do go together well.

OK, from what I understand of it I agree that God loves everyone and everyone is able to get into heaven by God's grace alone. That is why He sent Jesus to die for us. So even if you are gay, you can still get to heaven by admitting to God that you are a sinner and repenting. Now if you look up the word "repent" in the dictionary, the definition goes like this (copied and pasted from dictionary.com): "to feel such sorrow for sin or fault as to be disposed to change one's life for the better; be penitent." So I believe that if you truly are sorry for what you've done and you tell God that, then you will want to change your lifestyle, not continue on the same path and say "well God will forgive me." Trust me, Im a sinner just as much as any homosexual. I sin in different ways, but every sin is a sin in God's eyes. However, the difference is that I chose not to call my sin a lifestyle and excuse it. I am constantly working on changing the way I live to fit how the Bible tells me that God wants me to live. And it is never to late to truly repent and change. Im not saying that if you dont change you wont go to heaven. If you have believed in Jesus and asked Jesus into your life, then you will go to heaven. But as a follower and child of Christ we should want to live our lives to honor him. And to choose to make sin a lifestyle is not honoring Him. That is my opinion on the matter and Im up for discussion about it if you want to talk further. O, and btw, just to let ya know, everything in my profile is wrong I just typed stuff in cuz I wanted to join, but Im not 55 or however old it says I am, Im a 19 year old straight guy who loves the Lord.

Dude, you're way off... God did create whites blacks and all that, but that is completely different than creating gays. being gay is a choice. God didnt make you gay. He made humans with a sinful nature but its all by choice. You choose to sin and think homosexual thoughts or perform homosexual acts. We have no choice whether we're white black hispanic or whatever, but being gay is a choice.

You would want to stop it. I think people who classify themselves as gay christians are giving up and giving in to a lifestyle of sin that can be overcome and you still will get into heaven if you have accepted Christ, however, you should want to honor God by living a pure life which is not possible by giving in to a lifestyle of sin. Those same ministers that say we as gays are an abomination seem to miss the part about how God made man in His image. If I am the image of God then [b]God Himself must be gay. The would certainly explain the immaculate conception..I mean if God was gay he certainly wasn't having sex with a woman now was he!..LOL
We as gays have every right to adopt children and you certainly don't need the approval of the Catholic church. Considering how many boys have been molested by Catholic priests I would say that the last organization that should be allowed around children would be the Catholic church. And considering how many sexual scandals have exploded in all the denominations i.e., Catholic, Protestant, Methodist, etc., I really don't give a rats as what they think of homosexuals. I mean in terms of sexual misconduct I would place adultery, fornication, and pedophilia as something God would be way more against than say me as a gay guy sucking somebody's dick. But hey what do I know I'm just a dumb abomination. lol
Be proud of who you are and make people judge you on your character not your sexual preference. Being gay is a difficult and challenging life but it is also full of rewards and love. Tell the church to kiss you hot gay ass and like Lot and his family when they left Sodom and Gomorrah tell em to fuck off and don't look back.

OK Jake098... chill out for a second buddy. First of all, if some gay kid is gonna kill himself because of me saying that homosexuality is a choice, then they were just looking for an excuse to do it. Im sorry I was the excuse, but I am not the reason. Second, if you read through the Bible, God does not make you gay. You may be born with some homosexual tendencies, but it is your choice to allow your mind to dwell on them. It is not a sin for the thought to pass through your mind, however, the minute you entertain that thought it becomes sin. For instance. I am straight and I have struggled in the past with pornography. It is completely natural for me, as a teenage male to think inappropriate thoughts about females, however it does not condone it. And the minute I entertain those fleeting thoughts, I am sinning. That is a sin that is in my nature, and I have to keep that in check. What I "feel" is still a sin once I dwell on it, just like once you get past that fleeting thought of any homosexual feelings, it becomes a sin. So what Im getting at is that you guys may have a tendency towards homosexual feelings and that may be natural for you, but it is still your choice what you do with those feelings.
