The GYC here, recognizes the websites that truly excel in providing solid resources and great places for people of all ages to explore. This is the aim of TheGYC Website Awards: to celebrate websites that propagate both widely and wisely, so promoting further propagation.

EXCELLENT CONTENT
Awarded to websites with interesting written, drawn, animated or demonstrative content. These websites show consistency, taste and style in their content and need not contain interactive features nor meet especially high design criteria.

EXCELLENT COMMUNITY
Awarded to community websites that work to maintain an active and varied community population. Such sites strive to encourage individuals to interact with one another and make contact within a well designed infastructure. As well as all the existing elements a community may have, we assess the parts of the website that might motivate someone to take part.

EXCELLENT DESIGN
This award is given to complete websites that meet high design standards. They are easy to navigate, neat, clean and intelligent in design. Not as easy as it sounds. To win this award the website must be designed entierly by the webmaster (so not bought-in templates or default designs) so this award is aimed toward those who have been designing websites for a long time. A design can make or break a website regardless of content of structure which is why we have made this category.

EXCELLENT THROUGHOUT
Websites that meet the criteria of the above may be suitable for this award. As well as containing some interactive (not necessarily large) community aspects (such as questionnaires) and excellent content in a well designed template, these websites use technology very well. Also, websites that are excellent throughbout are supported by a strong and approachable management backbone who professionally manage and update the website. Whether managed by an individual or group this website award is for the fantastic sites.

RECOGNITION OF STRONG POTENTIAL (not an award)
If a website falls short of meeting the criteria for an award yet demonstrates strong potential, we still believe in recognizing the website if it has been developed with professionalism and flare. While this is not an award it is a good indicator of the high standard that the website (as we see it) is clearly working toward. It is only the winners in this category to whom we offer some form of consultation regarding how they might go around developing specific parts of their websites (for instance the design or content).
