GYC RADIO WILL NOW LAUNCH ON SATURDAY THE 12th OF SEPTEMBER The GYC,always looking for new directions, new ways to engage our members and excitingideas that encourage gay youth to feel part of a diverse community are launchingtheir own radio channel! Rob Drummer,editor of the GYC.com says, ‘GYC radio will be the most exciting newdevelopment the GYC has seen in a long time and one that will truly reflect ourever changing member base’. The radiocontent is currently being developed and Ollie, our newly appointed chief ofall radio content and development is working around the clock to get the launchshow on Saturday September 5that 7.30pm ready.
The GYC hasalways been passionate about offering our users a unique, safe and welcomingonline community environment and this new direction reflects our belief thatthe internet can be one of the most positive ways to engage gay youth. The radio show will include music,discussions, interaction with members, contributed content, reviews andpersonal perspectives as well as tying directly into the written content on thesite.
Obviously,as always we can only succeed with your support and so we are sending this toevery member on the GYC to get your views, opinions and hopefully a wish listof what you want your GYC radio to include! Ollie andRob are passionate about representing all of our members and so we want to hearfrom you! We are launching a competitionwhere all GYC members can record a 30 second mp3 clip which is your chance to have a voice on the GYC. For those of you who use spotify, think along a similar line but use it as a way to communicate with the rest of the GYC world! When you have recorded yourmp3, simply email it to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it putting “Voice of the GYC” in the subject line. These sound bites will then be used across the radio show and to promoteGYC radio on the site and beyond, so get thinking, recording and sending!
As the radiochannel becomes bigger and bolder you can expect a lot more from us but we aregoing to need your help and enthusiasm to help us on the way. With just over 2 weeks until launch night, wewant to hear your expectations so that we can represent you! Ollie will reply to any emails that he receivesand the results can be heard on the launch show!
