ImageHere at the GYC we are committed to bringing you the best resources for living a varied, healthy and happy life.  As part of a new feature here on the site it is our pleasure to bring you a brand new Health and Fitness section packed full of really useful information on all aspects of exercise and nutrition, from simple work outs suitable for all body types and easy enough to complete at home, all the way through to first rate advice on what to eat in order to encourage weight loss and then maintain a health diet.

Obviously, exercise regimes are always a suggestion and we encourage you to trial the workouts and tips here on the site to see how they suit your own lifestyle.  What we hope to achieve is to get all of you guys and girls thinking about your health and taking positive and simple steps to improving your general fitness.

As the feature develops we are aiming to build in a questions and answers section so that you can pose your own health and fitness queries to the GYC’s resident fitness instructor Jason Leigh.  Jason, now a professional health and fitness instructor and specialist in diet and nutritional health started out from a younger age by exercising in order to bulk up due to having older brothers, (something we can all relate to!) attending his local gym and gradually got into a fitness regime that enabled him to reach his optimum build and strength.  Over the past four years Jason has been working closely with individuals, seeking to improve their general health and fitness and enjoys seeing “the look on people’s faces when they see what they have achieved with hard work and dedication”.

Each month we shall feature a different set of exercises and develop information on the best foods to eat as well as Jason’s personal experiences of training and the highs and lows of his own health and fitness successes.  To start things off, what follows is an overview and the foundation to all of the future contributions on the site.

Obviously, we do not need to remind you that all exercise should be taken seriously and the guidelines published here on the site are meant as an introduction to a pathway of improving your health and fitness.  We do not advocate pushing yourself to extremes and recommend that membership to a good gym and regular check ups with your Doctor are vital to committing yourself to improving your health and fitness.  Remember, only you know your body, respect it above all else.
