A Letter To My Gay Son PDF Print E-mail

Gay Family Stories
Written by Nanette - Sourced from gayfamilysupport.com
Gay Family StoriesBeing your mother has been an exquisite joy and a delight, well, for 99% of the time – as has being the mother of your siblings, but you, my son were somebody different.

I remember that even as a very small child we described you as being the one who marched to the tune of the different drum.
From the time of your premature birth, you were the impatient one, the one who needed everything – from nappy changing to bottle feeding – to be given immediate attention.

So, I suppose because you were such a tiny demanding little scrap of humanity, I attended to your every needs, and I suppose that created a very strong bond between us.
I remember such beautiful moments in your childhood, and all the little milestones which are woven into the tapestry of our family experience, the little grace notes which have given color and beauty to our lives.

Homosexuality in the Classroom PDF Print E-mail

Should homosexuality  be discussed in the classroom and if so why?

Should homosexuality be discussed in the classroom? There are many arguments for and very few against discussing homosexuality in schools. So far as the U.K. syllabus is concerned, it is something that is being tackled in class; how effective this is, is another matter. Teachers, students, parents and governing bodies have their own opinions on the matter - if these are strong they may inhibit the impact of discussions. Many schools do not believe it is appropriate to ‘promote’ homosexuality in the classroom but this does not mean they think it shouldn't be discussed. Indeed, it would be preposterous to promote any sexuality: “be straight, it’s the best decision that I've made so why don’t you give it a go?”. Promotion may be far fetched, but an understanding of society's subcultures, whether founded on religion or sexual preference, can be gained through discussion. Sometimes the only places these discussions take place is in the classroom.

ImageGuys, I know you hear about it ALL the time, believe me I get sick of it but I just thought it'd be pretty important to higlight the risks of testicular problems.

To be honest, the reason I've written this is because of something that happened recently. Well, monday night I was sat at the computer and I started to get a pain in my groin towards my left testicle (Feel like I should be saying ball instead but you know what I mean).

Why come out? PDF Print E-mail

Written by QueerAsLife.com

Why come out?To live a life where you have to hide the very person you are is to some people unacceptable. Other people become tired of others guessing and talking behind their backs. It’s really a matter of personal choice. One thing is for sure though, and I can’t stress this enough…tell nobody until you are sure yourself. As a kid I would often participate in sexual play with other lads. As a teenager I had other homosexual experiences. BUT you must realise that such activities occur in the adolescent lives of nearly all people, gay and straight alike. It’s a natural process of discovering sexuality.

Coming Out to Your Friends PDF Print E-mail

Coming Out to FriendsThis guide to coming out aims to tackle a number of questions young gay, lesbian and bisexual people have. I’ve tried to make it appropriate for people from all cultures as it is a very influential factor. We strongly advise people in highly opinionated communities to call their local gay/lesbian/bisexual (GLB) switch board before coming out. This guide has been written with “first-timers” in mind. We have done our best to include more specific examples too - even coming out to your current straight other half – please visit advice & information section for these and more....
