Good column, many interesting points made. I think homophobia from some parents stems from a need to carry on the line (i.e. reproduction) and they fight against anything which could jeopodise (spelling 
) that. Or some parents could be trying to protect their children from future predjudice. I think homophobia is definately less prevalent in young people than it was. I try to stay optimistic.
