Hi I currently live in Newcastle upon Tyne and I have countless times been to Canal Streets and it's okay, me and my st8 best friend once got rejected from one of the clubs because we didn't look gay enough. 
It's a great place but whenever I go down there, I never really seem to see many gay guys there. 
But in Newcastle they have a big gay scene there at the Gay Village, at the Life centre and I always go there with my str8 best mate and there's lots of gay guys. 
I tend to go 'Camp David' and 'Switch' and there's alway gay guys there looking at me, which is great.
