I cant see the problem, words evolve all of the time, and if said in context they mean nothing. My friends call me poof, fag, queer etc etc but it is meant in humor and i will reply with breeder, striaght etc and offer back equally joking heterophobia.
The word Wicked just 5 years ago was applied to murderers', rapist', and peadophiles'. Now it means good. Sick, Fat (phat) and Nigger are all other words that have basically reveresed their meanings in recent years.
There is a distinction between somthing "being gay" and between the sexuality. Just as there is a distintion between, "hey nigger" and "F*** you N*****".
Just embrace language and remember that its only words and if people are homophobic they will always insult, if they are homophilic then they will not insuslt, regardless of language!
